Is this for real? I’ve been reading on some forums and some nooks in the Internet that Diana Gabaldon announced on “Surrey Writer’s Conference” that there will be 10 books in total for the main Outlander series.
Apparently, she said that she was writing the 9th book, which was supposed to be the final book, but as there is so much to tell and it doesn’t fit into just one book, she’ll be splitting it into two. Hence, the 10th book.
Seriously, is this for real? I’ve read this on a couple of blogs, but I haven’t seen a single news outlet pick up the news, nor did I read any official confirmation.
I mean, it does sound plausible. We all know Diana writes really long books. So I believe she has enough material and words to do 2 books. What’s more, now that Outlander is once more on top of every ranking list and has a new life thanks to the show, it wouldn’t really surprise me if they wanted to extended a bit more.
But the thing is… I’ll have to wait 10 YEARS to read the end of the story??? because if she takes 4 years in between books, the 10th one will come out in 2022!!! Yikes! I’m willing to wait. That means that I’ll have 8 more years of Jamie and Claire and everyone else. But on the other hand, it’ll be so hard to wait for so long!!!
