Don’t know if you’ve noticed, but I’m really into this show. Episode 2 was amazing! But I’m still a bit confused at the speed of the show. I haven’t actually finished reading the first book, but I’ve read quite a lot of it and in just 2 episodes, they’ve covered a lot of ground. And if the previews for episode 3 are true, they’ll be way ahead of the middle of the book.
How many books are they cramming into the 1 season???
Ok, anyways… This week’s Poldark was amazing and I got 5 lessons out of it.
1/ HOW TO GET READ OF CRAWLERS
Apparently, the crawlers (aka: lice) back in the 18th century were way easier to remove. Just splash a bit of cold water and that’s it. No shampoo, no soap, no special medicine. No need for those horrible lice combs that made your head hurt.
2/ CORNWALL IS MAGNIFICENT
Seriously, how come not more shows at shot there? It’s beautiful!
3/ POLDARK KNOWS HOW TO GET JIGGY WITH IT
We’ve all seen Regency era dancing. The walking around, the going around in circles, the dancing with someone who’s not your partner because you switch in the middle of the dance… No wonder Mr Darcy didn’t dance. That must have been some difficult choreographies to learn. And I know that in 100 years time, people will probably be laughing about the way we dance, but that was ridiculous.
But… Poldark does know how to have a good time at an assembly…
Oh, God! You gotta love Aidan…
4/ POLDARK LIKES TO GO SKINNY DIPPING
We all knew Aidan Turner looked amazing in period clothes. But now we know he looks even better out of them. And now we know that Demelza is a total fangirl and we love her for it.
5/ CAPES FROM THE PAST WERE MAGICAL
I mean… they had to be. Because they grew in length from scene to scene
Either it’s magical, or that can’t be the same cape.
And, really, did they have to make it read? We all know they’ll end up together. Did you have to put a big sign on her that said “temptation”?
