Christmas break. What do you do once you’ve opened up all your presents, ate all you could possibly eat and hanged out with the family? Well, you put on your PJs, pour yourself a cup of tea and lie in bed watching movies. That’s exactly what I did. I binged watched 4 movies, one after the other and it was great. And, hence, I drank a lot of tea.
Let’s review the movies I watched, shall we?
FROZEN
Because every single occasion is a good excuse to watch Frozen again. This time, I made my mom watch it, cuz she had never seen it. I knew. Inexcusable. What can I say about this movie that hasn’t been said already? It’s perfect. The characters, the art, the storyline, the music. Oh God, the music! Besides, it’s snowing like all the time in the movie, so it’s a perfect movie for the Holidays.
ONCE
Finally got around to watching this movie. I have seen the musical on the West End and I have the Soundtrack and love it. But I had never been able to watch the movie. Now I have. “Once” is a modern-day musical set on the streets of Dublin and tells the story of a street musician and a Czech immigrant during an eventful week as they write, rehearse and record songs that reveal their unique love story. I loved it. As much as I did the play. The characters are lovable. The love story is heart-warming and the music is everything. Don’t miss this movie cuz is one of the best!
ONLY LOVERS LEFT ALIVE
Yes, yes, yes. I know I’ve been gushing over Tom Hiddleston for months. And I know he plays a vampire in this movie. So how hadn’t I seen it before?!?!?! Well, I hadn’t. Let’s move on, shall we? I had heard mixed reviews for this movie. I had read amazing reviews, but some of my friends who had seen it, told me they had hated it. I gotta say, I really enjoyed it. Tilda Swinton and Tom Hiddleston are perfect for their characters. They are just so cool, angsty, smart, ethereal and immortal as only they can be. It’s kinda entertaining to see vampires get the blues. The movie might be slow paced, but it only adds to it’s charm and mood.
A PRINCESS FOR CHRISTMAS
I’ll admit I only watched this movie cuz I’m suffering from Outlander withdrawal and I needed to see a little bit of Sam Heughan. The movie is bad. The acting is bad. But you still love it. I don’t know what it is. Maybe cuz it’s so simple. 2 orphaned kids living with their young aunt, get invited by their estranged grandfather to spend Christmas at his castle. So, of course, the young penniless American aunt falls for the hot, rich prince. It’s bad. Really bad. But it’s so cute and sweet you can’t help but love it.
