Crying in my own little corner: Starz has pushed back the premiere date for Outlander

It’s a sad, sad day, sassenach. Though, to be honest, we never had an actual premiere date to mark our calendars and set a countdown on our phones. But, as it was said that the release of “Written in my own heart’s blood” would coincide with the premiere of the show on Starz. So we all assumed it would have a Spring premiere.

No such luck, my friends. Apparently, dear old Starz has pushed back the release date to July / August.

Rumors started circulating all over Twitter and Facebook until some brave soul, asked Diana Gabaldon:

Damn! It isn’t only that we’ll have to wait several more months to see our favorite books and beloved characters come to life. The thing that has me worried is my own mental health. Seriously. Even since it was announced that Starz was working on a screen adaptation, I’ve been following every single piece of news. I crave Outlander information more than the air I breath. It ain’t healthy. No, no. I’m attached to my phone, awaiting every time it chimes, to see if it is some Tweet with some Earth-shattering information like Sam Heughan cut an inch from his hair. I’m glued to my computer hoping for some stalker-type fan that managed to get a pic from the set.

I’m an Outlander junkie. So if I have to keep this up until July, or worse… August, I don’t think my poor little brain will be able to take.

Though, there’s always a silver lining. Theoretically, the publishers won’t be pushing back the release of the 8th book.

Praise the Lord! Cuz after the cliff-hangers form book number 7, I’ve been hitting my head against the wall!!!

Can you wait until August to watch Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe during this scene?

I turned to Jamie in sudden panic. “I can’t marry you! I don’t even know your last name!”
He looked down at me and cocked a ruddy eyebrow. “Oh. It’s Fraser. James Alexander Malcolm Mackenzie Fraser.”

80’s kid, 90’s teen. That sums it up quite nicely. Fan of almost everything. There’s not enough room in cyber-space to list everything (or every guy / fictional character I have the hots for), but I’ll try: Outlander book series ultimate fan (‘cuz JAMMF is just perfection), YA and romance novel avid reader, BSB fan to the death. Current TV Shows addiction: Game of Thrones, Arrow (I ship Olicity. Hard.), Glee, The Big Bang Theory, Marvel Agents of SHIELD. Past addictions: Friends, Spartacus, Smash, The Tudors, Battlestar Galactica, Lost (I’m an ending-hater). Future obsessions: Outlander on Starz, obviously. The Hot List: Gerard Butler, Theo James, Nick Carter, Henry Cavill, Chris Hemsworth, Luke Evans, Stephen Amell, Hugh Jackman and I could keep going to infinity. Oh! And I believe in the God of Google!

We are trained to wait. Diana has done the miracle since she wrote book 1. And we survived. We have to find something to entertain ourselves in the meantime. I think I will catch up with my reading and start all over again from book 1 (like gym). Not a bad idea after all, ah?

I currently re-reading Drums of Autumn. And I’ll re-read for like the 100th time, the first book before the series premiere next year.
