We’ve talked about this before. Fairy tales might be great and considered classics among literature. But let’s get real: they do ruin us for real life. They make us believe love is this romantic, magical thing. They give us unrealistic expectation towards men, because they aren’t all knights in shinning armor.
That being said, can we please totally fangirl over Disney’s new take on “Cinderella”? I can’t believe I haven’t freaked out over this movie before. I honestly don’t know how that happened. But now, I’m gonna gush to my hearts content.
We all love fairy tales. They are so magical, so romantic, so cute! The characters are adorable, the music is memorable and the Prince is always amazing. At least in Disney’s version. True fairy tales can be quite scary… But Disney has a knack for turning them into something so beautiful and powerful, that we have all dreamed of being a princess when we were young.
If you are a Downton Abbey fan, you already know Lily James and love her. Well… now prepare to be very, very envious of her. Not only does she get to have an amazing Fairy Godmother, Cate Blanchett as her evil Stepmother, loose the beloved glass slipper, wear a light-blue ball-gown which is to die for, but she also gets Richard Madden, aka Robb Stark out of the fur coat, as her stunning Prince. Yeah… we hate her.
First we got this cute little teaser:
As gorgeous as it is, I don’t think I would ever use a high-heeled shoe made of glass. Seriously. How uncomfortable is that?!
If you went all “aaaaahhhh” because of that teaser, get ready to swoon over this trailer.
How blue are Richard Madden’s eyes? OMG!
Though I didn’t like Maleficent, I gotta say that this whole Disney trend of turning classic, beloved fairy tales into live-action movies is amazing. This new spin brings back all the magic and excitement of the best Disney classics. Specially, when the evil stepmother is played by non-other than the exquisite Cate Blanchett
And Helena Bonham Carter is the Fairy Godmother
Please go ahead and admit how excited you are about this movie… Beasides, it’s fun to see some role reversal in this movie:
