If you follow me on Twitter, you already know that after watching The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, I have a new obsession. Luke Evans. Hello there, Luke Evans! How come I wasn’t obsessed with you before? I mean, I’ve seen him in movies before and thought he was a good actor and hot, but that was it. It took seeing him with long hair, beard, covered from head to toe, speaking in his native Welsh accent and playing one of my favorite characters from The Hobbit for me to go: “oh, wow!”
So, let’s review some of the intel I’ve gathered, in order to get to know him a little bit better. Shall we? Luke Evans was born on April 15th, 1979. He is a 34 year old Aries (for those of you who care about these things). He was born and raised in Aberbargoed (say waat?), a small town in the Rhymney Valley, Wales. So he is Welsh and has the hottest Welsh accent e-ver!
You just died there a little, right? Yes? Ok, you are human then. So, as you very well saw, this hottie who grew up as a Jehova’s Witness (though he left the religion when he was 16 and quit school at the same time), can sing. He actually started his career in musicals in London’s West End. He played the part of Roger, in London’s 2007-2008 adaptation of RENT.
Want more? Here he is singing “The first time I saw your face”:
Oh! Apart from singing in Welsh, he can sing in the language from the Philippines.
And Spanish *swoon*
Too much, right? Not only that, but he was all dashing in a Kylie Minogue music video she did for her “The Kylie Show”
I saw him first in CLASH OF THE TITANS, where he played none other than Apollo himself.
Then as Aramis in THE THREE MUSKETEERS
He again played a Greek God (cuz obviously, that’s what he is). This time, it was Zeuz in Immortals.
I just saw him in FAST & FURIOUS 6, and he had me rooting for the bad guy!
But my love started with Bard, from The Hobbit
Ok, enough with the career. He’s done other great movies (will talk about it later) and he will appear in some other awesome ones. Let’s go to the important stuff.
He does great photoshoots
VOGUE
GQ
FLAUNT
POLICE SUNGLASSES
Oh! And thank the Lord, he did the cover for Men’s Health
According to the few interviews I’ve watched, he tends to be somewhat serious. Not always, mind. But he’s funnier and goofier on Social Media, where he is very active (Thank God!). In he interacts quite a bit with fans, he uses (that I don’t know what the heck it is but will join just to follow him), to post things like this:
And… I stalk him on as well, cuz when he posts things like this, my heart melts (read the caption).
And… he is a boy to my fangirl’s heart, who has mastered the art of selfies and phone action
One more thing? I love his vampire fangs
