Friday Night Hottie: Nikolaj Coster-Waldau

Friday Night Hottie: Nikolaj Coster-Waldau

Yes, ladies and gentlemen. Game of Thrones is finally coming back. This Sunday, April 6th, is the premiere of Season 4, and after the OMFG Red Wedding, we are all dying to know what the heck happens next. Ok, you guys who haven’t read the books are dying to know. The rest of us have at least an inkling.

Last week, we paid tribute to cutie Richard who ain’t coming back. Today, our Friday Night Hottie is Mr Jaime Lannister himself, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau.

Yes. Even though he has a very incestuous relationship with his sister and even though he does horrible things in the name of love, I like him.

Ok, I like Nikolaj, not Jaime. But still. Jeez! That little clip was for way back on the very first episode of season 1 and I still remember it. It was so good!

Back on track. Nikolaj. A very tall dude from Denmark who I first saw in Wimbledon, playing the best friend to Paul Bettany’s character.

Not true. I first saw him in Black Hawk Down. But there are so many hot dudes in that one movie that one can’t keep track. So we’ll say we first saw him on Wimbledon, ok? I saw him in a bunch of other stuff, but I just looooved him in the (very) short lived TV show called “New Amsterdam”. I loved that show. It told the story of John Amsterdam, an NYPD homicide detective who is 400 years old, but has the appearance of a 35-year-old. He was a Dutch soldier in Manhattan in the year 1642 when he stepped in front of a sword to save the life of a Native American girl during a massacre of her tribe. The girl in turn rescued Amsterdam by weaving a spell that conferred immortality upon him. It was also prophesied that he would not age until he finds his one true love, and only then will he become whole and ready for mortality. His quest to find his “true love” drives the series. But in each episode as a policeman he has crimes to solve, which he does using his deep and often personal knowledge of history, depicted as flashbacks.

These are some of the reasons I liked John Amsterdam:

Nice, huh?

And then… he was Jaime. You might not like the character, but a knight in shinning armor or leather is always a “yes” for me

Oh! And he is also hot in plain old street clothes…

Two more things…

1/ He speaks Danish

2/ He did the Men’s Health cover shoot

Have fun on Sunday watching the Season 4 premiere!!! Winter is coming!!!

80’s kid, 90’s teen. That sums it up quite nicely. Fan of almost everything. There’s not enough room in cyber-space to list everything (or every guy / fictional character I have the hots for), but I’ll try: Outlander book series ultimate fan (‘cuz JAMMF is just perfection), YA and romance novel avid reader, BSB fan to the death. Current TV Shows addiction: Game of Thrones, Arrow (I ship Olicity. Hard.), Glee, The Big Bang Theory, Marvel Agents of SHIELD. Past addictions: Friends, Spartacus, Smash, The Tudors, Battlestar Galactica, Lost (I’m an ending-hater). Future obsessions: Outlander on Starz, obviously. The Hot List: Gerard Butler, Theo James, Nick Carter, Henry Cavill, Chris Hemsworth, Luke Evans, Stephen Amell, Hugh Jackman and I could keep going to infinity. Oh! And I believe in the God of Google!

I wonder of that New Amsterdam just have bad timing or bad promotion. I just remember thinking oh another cop show blah. If I had fully realized that the concept, of a 400 year old man looking for his true love, that would have got me to the first episode because I love that kind of thing, and NCW’s good looks and talent would have kept me tuned in. Sigh.

Yeah, it could have been bad timing or bad promotion. It’s true that it was yet another cop, procedural show, but the premise was a good idea. Too bad it lasted so few episodes. I liked it.
