Incredible as it may seem, season 1 of Outlander has come and gone. We’ve waited for it reading and re-reading the book countless times. We’ve imagined how it could be through out the years. We then rode an emotional roller-coaster when all the announcement and set pictures started surfacing. And now, after all that and a 6 months hiatus mid-season, it’s gone. Let’s cry…
And now… we are getting ready for Outlander 2.0. Season 2, aka “Dragonfly in Amber” has started filming and we couldn’t be more excited to see Jamie in 18th century, Frenchman tights.
Apart from all those wonderful set photos, we got some casting news that will keep us entertained for weeks. No, it’s not Roger and Brianna.
Meet Jared Fraser, Jamie’s wine merchant cousin
Robert Cavanah is a successful wine merchant. Jamie and Claire will live in his mansion in Paris. Yes, mansion! If you recognize his face, it’s cuz you’ve probably seen him in ”Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life”, “The Borgias”, “Hatfields & McCoys”, “The Bill”, “Doctors” and “Eastenders.”
I pictured him shorter and older… Oh well…
Now… the other piece of news:
I swear it isn’t Roger. It’s Le Comte St Germain. Stanley Weber is also a wine merchant, but he is also a member of the French Court and has a reputation for dabbling in the occult. Don’t be fooled by his good looks, he is kind of a villain.
This guy is a very, very intriguing character. And, by the way, this is another amazing bit of casting, as Outlander has us used to. If you don’t believe me, take a look:
