Hello peeps! I’m back!
I know I’ve been MIA for some weeks now. That’s because lately, I’m having really long work hours and a lot going on in my personal life. New exciting things. And that means I have like zero available time for blogging. Which sucks.
But I just had to come back to talk with you guys about this:
SERIOUSLY? WTF?!?!?!
What have they done to my favorite childhood show??? They’ve murdered it!
I used to love this show when I was a little girl, and I was so excited when they announced the were making a live action movie. I didn’t actually mind if they did a new version and changed so things to bring it forward to 21st century. But this is way to much.
The only thing left of Jem is the name and the pink hair. Why did they have to turn this into a soppy Nicholas Sparks’s teenage movie?
Jem was a strong, independent, grown woman. She was the head of her own business company and run an orphanage. And her mission was to keep those two running, while protecting her father’s holographic device and being the lead singer in the world’s most amazing band, every time Synergy transformed her.
Now… she is shy teenager, whose sister uploads to youtube video of her singing and a record label totally manufactures a band and tries to change her.
Jem? Not so much.
When Jerrica transformes into Jem, she is sort of a superhero, fighting for the company, the orphanage, the little girls in her care and her father’s secret. Now, in the movie, when Jerrica transforms into Jem, it’s just a teenage girl being robbed of her personality by the record industry.
I’m furious! I mean… no teenage or young girl knows Jem nowadays. Only we, 30 year olds know and love her, so why create a movie using a brand no youngster will recognize, while killing every aspect old fans loved?
Can someone explain this to me? Cuz I seriously don’t understand it. Like… I would have been at least 5% happy if they had included Jem’s famous song. But did they? Hell no!
