New book boyfriend alert? “Sweet Filthy Boy” is released today

Honestly, I can’t keep going like this. I don’t have enough time for all my book boyfriends. It’s exhausting! And today is the release of the writing duo Christina Lauren’s new book: “Sweet Filthy Boy”. And, apparently, Ansel is awesome.

“Sweet Filthy Boy” is the first book in the duo’s new series “Wild Seasons”. According to : One-night stands are supposed to be with someone convenient, or wickedly persuasive, or regrettable. They aren’t supposed to be with someone like him. But after a crazy Vegas weekend celebrating her college graduation—and terrified of the future path she knows is a cop-out—Mia Holland makes the wildest decision of her life: follow Ansel Guillaume—her sweet, filthy fling—to France for the summer and just…play. When feelings begin to develop behind the provocative roles they take on, and their temporary masquerade adventures begin to feel real, Mia will have to decide if she belongs in the life she left because it was all wrong, or in the strange new one that seems worlds away.

I’ll save you the trouble, Mia. Stay in the strange new life with the sweet filthy boy. I mean, we all know how this is going to end…

This is the amazing thing about this books. Before we even open the front cover, before it is even released, we all know how it’s going to end. It’s the basic formula: girl meets boy – they have loads of fun and sex – they start falling for each other though they don’t admit it – there’s some kind of trouble in paradise – they get back together, admit they are crazy about each other and live happily ever after – the end. And yet… we read these books as if they were the very air we breath. We laugh, we cry, we root for the couple and we cheer when they embrace in a final kiss. It’s emotionally exhausting.

Specially, when the books are good. And Christina Lauren’s books are good. I loved their Beautiful Bastard series (Will Sumner is still my favorite). Not only did I love the men (obviously), but I loved the girls as well (which is very odd). And I loved the romance and the humor. So I’m desperate to get my hands on a brand new copy of “Sweet Filthy Boy” and fall for Ansel.

One thing though… I don’t like the title… =( But, oh well… I don’t really care.

80’s kid, 90’s teen. That sums it up quite nicely. Fan of almost everything. There’s not enough room in cyber-space to list everything (or every guy / fictional character I have the hots for), but I’ll try: Outlander book series ultimate fan (‘cuz JAMMF is just perfection), YA and romance novel avid reader, BSB fan to the death. Current TV Shows addiction: Outlander, Game of Thrones, Arrow (I ship Olicity. Hard.), The Big Bang Theory, Marvel Agents of SHIELD. Past addictions: Friends, Glee, Spartacus, Smash, The Tudors, Battlestar Galactica, Lost (I’m an ending-hater). The Hot List: Luke Evans, Gerard Butler, Theo James, Nick Carter, Henry Cavill, Chris Hemsworth, Stephen Amell, Hugh Jackman and I could keep going to infinity. Oh! And I believe in the God of Google!
