Earlier this week we talked about which shows were cancelled. Some we will mourn, some others we enjoyed seeing go. And now… it’s time to see which are the new shows that are coming our way and making predictions to see which ones will survive.
First up: CSI: CYBER
Patricia Arquette has stopped seeing ghosts and will now hunt criminals through the Internet. She’ll play a cyber-psychologist in charge of the Cyber Crime Division at Quantico, Virginia.
Tricky. Though CSI: Miami and CSI: New York got cancelled, I think this show could survive. I mean… Medium did. And it was awful.
NCIS: NEW ORLEANS
Really? Another spin-off? With Lucas Black? Really?
It might, just might get picked up for a 2nd season because NCIS is a big show. But I don’t see a big future for this spin-off
BAD JUDGE
Kate Walsh plays a sexually unapologetic woman who lives on the edge despite her job as a criminal court judge. Strangely enough, I think it might work.
SECRETS AND LIES
The drama, an adaptation from an Australian show, centers on a patriarch (Ryan Phillipe) who becomes the prime suspect in the murder of a young boy when he finds the body. The detective investigating the murder is Juliette Lewis. Yeah… I don’t think so.
THE ODD COUPLE
Matthew Perry will play Oscar while Thomas Lennon plays Felix in a new adaptation of Neil Simon’s play “The Odd Couple.” I think it will work. Matthew Perry is awesome!!!
MISSION CONTROL
It stars Krysten Ritter as a female engineer battling the boy’s club in the 1960′s space program. Seriously. Is this for real?
CONSTANTINE
Matt Ryan will play the title role, a master of the occult tasked with protecting humanity from the forces of evil. Another DC comic adaptation. Let’s hope this one works because Matt Ryan is fantastic and he really looks like the character!!!
FOREVER
A 200-year-old man (Ioan Grudduff) works in the New York City Morgue trying to find a key to unlock the curse of his immortality. It sort of sounds like ““, which I loved and Pete Hamill’s “Forever” book, which I also loved. So here’s hoping.
By the way, a new TV season featuring both Ioan Gruffudd and Matt Ryan? Way to go, Welsh boys!
MARVEL’S AGENT CARTER
The premise is that in 1946, Peggy Carter must balance the marginalized office work she does for the Strategic Scientific Reserve, while secretly working with Howard Stark on missions.
It’s from Marvel’s Cinematic Universe. It will work.
