Seriously?
I mean… seriously!?!?
That could be the total extent of my post, because, come on! Aren’t these character photos just absolutely per-freaking-fect? They made my day. I’ve been saying this in almost every Outlander-related post, but the PR people at Starz deserve some sort of prize (starting with the now jobless one who tweeted about Sam beforehand). Annnnd… aren’t Starz and Ron Moore doing the most amazing adaptation like, ever? Just from the sneak peeks we are getting, I always feel like it’s exactly how I imagined the books and characters to be. I’ve been trolling the Blogs trying to find some fun and juicy banter where fans just trash the promo material. You know what I’ve found? Nothing. Absolutely nothing. Everyone loves everything that’s coming out. And we haven’t seen anything yet, actually.
So, let’s see.
Hmmm… Spoiler alert anyone? I know all of us fans know why she has the double last name, but the new folk will be all like “waaat???”
She looks stunning. The hair, the expression, everything. I’m betting this is the scene where Frank comes back into the B&B and tells her about the ghost. Could be, right?
I wasn’t so sure about Tobias Menzies, but I take it all back. He looks amazing as both characters. And as Black Jack, he kinda looks like my Dream Cast, Jason Isaacs.
Geillis is perfect. Just as I pictured her. It’s just so weird how this happens, don’t you think? I mean… I bet all of us pictured this characters in our heads and, if we could be able to extract that mental image, I bet none would look alike. But we are all agreeing that these profile photos are just exactly how we envisioned the characters…
Though… not so sure about Colum, Dougal and Murtagh. Thing is, I did imagine these men differently. I’m not saying I don’t like them. They are perfect and go extremely well with the rest of the cast, but I did think of them in a different way… But, I have to give them one thing: they do look like brothers. The totally look alike. It’s amazing. Bit of great casting, here, if you ask me.
Now… to the important stuff…
Have I already said that Sam Heughan looks more and more like Jamie Fraser every time I see him? Yes? Ok, good. Just making sure. How does he do it? I know Diana Gabaldon said that as soon as she saw Sam’s audition she saw Jamie cuz he was Jamie. But, damn! This is surreal! Though, I have a question: have I always pictured Jamie like this or now that I’m seeing Sam I’m starting to realize how I pictured Jamie or is Sam such a perfect Jamie that I threw my mental picture of Jamie through the window and adopted Sam’s as my own? Either way…
Let’s break it down cuz… yeah.
HAIR
From a scale from 1 to OMG I just can’t even, I give it 10 fingers that I want to run through those reddish curls. They got the color hair to perfection.
FACE
Gah!
Those eyes, the frown, the cheekbones, the mouth, the nose, the jawline. Is it getting hot in here or is it just me? I swear I can already see Sam in my mind, looking like this and saying some of the best Jamie quotes and I’m already melting. I won’t survive this. I fear my mental health won’t be able to withstand a whole season. I should take an insurance policy.
OVERALL
Have you seen that neck? Is it thick or what? And I don’t know if it is the photo or the posture, but he looks like a big lad. As Claire very well said, were I a horse, I’d let him ride me anywhere!
