My Outlander hopes and predictions

My Outlander hopes and predictions

I’m here to say good-bye. It’s been nice knowing you all. But I have to say farewell. Why? Because after this weekend I won’t be a functioning human being.

I’ve been a fan of the Outlander book series for almost 10 years now. And I’ve read every single thing that Diana Gabaldon has written. Everything. I think I’ve even read her grocery list. And it’s not just the books. It’s sharing them with a group of friends who love these books as much as I do. So it’s not just that, for me, the characters are real people, it’s so much more. It’s sharing their lives with people whom I love.

My friends and I have been waiting for Jamie and Claire to be taken to the small or big screen for as long as I can remember. And now we are just a few hours away from seen our dream come true.

Yes. We’ve been strong and we haven’t yet watched the episode. We decided we wanted to wait until it’s official premiere and watch it all together. And now I’m counting every single minute as if my life depended on it.

I have to admit I’ve watched every trailer, TV spot, sneak peek scene, panel, interview and opening titles. I just had to. And every thing I’ve seen was perfect. So, obviously, I’m expecting the episode to be the ultimate perfection. I’m expecting sooooo many things!

So… I won’t analyze the scenes I’ve already seen, because I wanna do a full episode review, but let’s see which things I hope the episode includes. And then we’ll see how many I got right and how many I got wrong.

- The prologue. I hope they include the prologue in some way. Don’t know how, maybe just with a voice over. But the prologue is so evocative and so perfect that I need them to include it.

- Blood on the steps of the houses in Inverness. To start setting the mood and introducing the rituals and the special date.

- The first time Claire says “Jesus H. Roosevely Christ”. I can’t wait!!!

- The ghost. Good God, I can’t wait to see the ghost scene. I have chills down my spine just thinking about it.

- Claire and Frank go sailing down Loch Ness. It might not be an important scene, but the scenery would be gorgeous!!!

- Wee Roger. Will we get a glimpse of the cute, small, green eyed boy?

- I hope we catch a glimpse of the genealogy chart in Reverend Wakefield’s study

- Dougal saying the something like they don’t have time for rape. I always thought that phrase was so typically Dougal.

- I hope they include Claire saying “I’m a nurse” and everyone staring at her boobs because they think she is a wet nurse.

- Oh! Something I’m crossing my fingers for them to include is when Jamie wants to cover Claire with his plaid as soon as they mount his horse. That was just so cute. He wanted to take care of her since the very beginning.

Ok. I think that’s about it. The 2nd episode is called “Castle Leoch”, so it might be when they finally arrive at the castle, right? So my hopes and predictions will just go this far.

I can’t really tell you how anxious I am to see this show. And I can’t apologize enough for what I’ll become after this weekend. I hope you still like me when all I can talk about is Outlander.

Cheers!

80’s kid, 90’s teen. That sums it up quite nicely. Fan of almost everything. There’s not enough room in cyber-space to list everything (or every guy / fictional character I have the hots for), but I’ll try: Outlander book series ultimate fan (‘cuz JAMMF is just perfection), YA and romance novel avid reader, BSB fan to the death. Current TV Shows addiction: Game of Thrones, Arrow (I ship Olicity. Hard.), Glee, The Big Bang Theory, Marvel Agents of SHIELD. Past addictions: Friends, Spartacus, Smash, The Tudors, Battlestar Galactica, Lost (I’m an ending-hater). Future obsessions: Outlander on Starz, obviously. The Hot List: Gerard Butler, Theo James, Nick Carter, Henry Cavill, Chris Hemsworth, Luke Evans, Stephen Amell, Hugh Jackman and I could keep going to infinity. Oh! And I believe in the God of Google!
