A couple of days ago, the God of Fandom answered our prayers and we saw Charlie Hunnam say to the role of Christian Grey. Apparently, he just now realized (a month shy form shooting) that he didn’t want the kind of mammoth fame the role would bring him (yeah, right). So now, every fan everywhere is wrecking her brains (again) trying to come with the best option for Mr. Grey (as if we had any say in the casting choice. But… whatever. Fan casting is free… and fun!)
According to , Universal / Focus brought along Patrick Marber, Oscar-nominated screenwriter to do a polish on the script that, technically, starts shooting next month. Marber worked on such movies as “Notes on a Scandal” and “Closer”. But really, who cares about the script? What was important in that article was the names they are considering for the role of Mr. Grey.
It appears that they are now searching for a lesser known name, because no A-list actor would get near the role. Yeah, well. Their loss, our gain. We get to discover a new Eye Candy with this role! Because a less known actor would jump at the opportunity on embarking on this huge franchise and make a name for himself.
So, according to THR, they are thinking about the following dudes:
ALEXANDER SKARSGARD
I love him. Don’t get me wrong. And he is hot as hell. But I never saw him as Christian.
CHRISTIAN COOKE
I swear I had to search long and hard for a good picture. He looks like a scared puppy in most of them. So, hell to the no. No Grey material here.
THEO JAMES
If this turns out to be true, I would die and go to heaven! If normally his interviews are full of sexual innuendo, can you imagine his interviews for this movie!!!??? But I doubt he’ll take on the role while doing the Divergent movies.
JAMIE DORNAN
Have no idea who he is, really. But, hello there Jamie! Apparently, he is the forerunner and is in talks to take on the role. So, to get a little bit more familiar with this possible Mr. Christian Grey, here are some photos. May be they’ll help make up your mind.
Who would you rather have as Christian Grey?
I must be the only one who haven’t read the book. Is it any good?
