Yeah, well. Basically cuz Real Life gets in the way and because I have a like a gazillion books stacked on my bookshelves waiting to be read. And they stare at me in the face everyday when I wake up. Yup. I have “reader’s guilt”, cuz instead of reading new books, I’ve been re-reading The Hobbit.
But after watching the “If I Stay” trailer, I kinda know which book I’ll be reading next. Some background info for the clueless like me. “If I Stay” is a book written by Gayle Forman (who also wrote “” and “” which I totally loved and which totally took me by surprise). It’s the story about Mia Hall, a seventeen year old who loves music. She has a boyfriend, a loving family and is preparing for an audition at Julliard.
Cue a terrible and horrible car accident that kills her parents and leaves her in a comma, detached from her unconscious body. She can see and hear everything that’s going on around her and she now has a choice: to wake up and stay behind or to move on to the unknown.
Please pass me the box of tissues, please.
Wanna see the trailer? Thought so.
The trailer does make a lot of emphasis on the romance story-line, but I hope it’s more like the ”Just One Day” books, where what’s important it’s the personal growth and decisions.
Anyways… feels like a total tearjerker like ““. So I will obviously be there on opening day for both of them!
So, have you read “If I Stay”? Will you be watching the movie?
