Obsessing over YouTubers

Obsessing over YouTubers

One can have fandom obsessions over very random things. And I haven’t told you about something that I’ve been fangirling really hard about for the past 4 years. Well… maybe it isn’t a fandom. But it’s a huge online community.

What am I talking about?

Beauty Gurus.

I’m obsessed! Like, extremely obsessed with these YouTubers. Which isn’t such a great idea considering that I have quite the addictive personality and that I’m a bit of a compulsive buyer. So following theirs Vlogs makes me go: “I neeeeeeeeeed that product” every 5 seconds. It’s causing havoc on my economy. But I couldn’t care less.

Everything started over 4 years ago when one of my best friends was getting married and I decided I wanted to do my make up and hair myself. So I Googled for Tutorials and it led me to this Blog: . Not only does she have a blog, but she also has a !!! That was it for me. I became obsessed. I think I watched every single one of her videos in like less than a week.

So, Tiffany does all things beauty: make up, fashion, decor, hauls and so on. This is my favorite channel. I’ve been following her the longest, since it was the first Vlog I found. If you see her newer videos, they are very professional:

But it was really cool to see how she went from her first videos (which were done in her closet) to the ones she does now.

She also used to have were she posted reviews for books, comments on movies and TV shows, vlogged about trips, decor ideas and whatnot. But she hasn’t been updating that channel for some time now.

Someone who does update both her channels and whom I very recently discovered is…

Zoella01

OMG, am I obsessed with her??? I loooooooove her! It all started a few months ago when a friend from work wanted to do some milkmaid braids. Of course, I just searched for a YouTube tutorial to be all DIY. And what I found, was this:

Don’t you just adore her?

Why do I love her, you ask? Well, for several reasons in fact:

- Her accent. Seriously, I could her hear speak all day.

- The fact that she doesn’t take herself or her videos too seriously. I mean, her vids are perfect, the focus, the lighting, the content… Very professional. But she laughs, a lot. And she does little jokes. She doesn’t edit out if there’s a noise, she leaves it in there and says something funny. I love how natural and funny she is.

- She has 2 channels and they are both amazing. In her main channel, , she does things like make up and hair tutorials, hauls, Look Books, Q&As, favorite products and Tags with her other YouTube friends which are hilarious. On her other channel, , vlogs almost every day about her daily life. It may not sound interesting, but this girl is amazing. I laugh so much watching her videos. But she gets serious sometimes. She suffers from anxiety and her vlogs talking about it are pretty great.

And even though I just discovered her, apparently Zoe is huuuuuuuuge! She’s been to Talk Shows, she is sort of a celebrity in the UK, she has a book coming up, she recently had the launch of her beauty products. This girl is all over the place and I love it!

But this wouldn’t be an obsession of my if I hadn’t collected several channels I follow. So let me show you some more:

So, ok… These aren’t really a “fandom” per se… But I’m a fan and I’m obsessed over these videos. Specially Zoella’s. So there you have it.

80’s kid, 90’s teen. That sums it up quite nicely. Fan of almost everything. There’s not enough room in cyber-space to list everything (or every guy / fictional character I have the hots for), but I’ll try: Outlander book series ultimate fan (‘cuz JAMMF is just perfection), YA and romance novel avid reader, BSB fan to the death. Current TV Shows addiction: Outlander, Game of Thrones, Arrow (I ship Olicity. Hard.), The Big Bang Theory, Marvel Agents of SHIELD. Past addictions: Friends, Glee, Spartacus, Smash, The Tudors, Battlestar Galactica, Lost (I’m an ending-hater). The Hot List: Luke Evans, Gerard Butler, Theo James, Nick Carter, Henry Cavill, Chris Hemsworth, Stephen Amell, Hugh Jackman and I could keep going to infinity. Oh! And I believe in the God of Google!
