MTV just premiered the 60 seconds trailer for the Divergent movie, at the very end of the VMAs Pre-Show.
Where to begin?
Oh, right… I have to freak out… OMG!!!
I liked the books, I really did. But I liked The Hunger Games better. And I was really excited for the movie (which I really liked). So, though I liked the Divergent books, I wasn’t so hyped for the movie. Until I saw photos of Theo James as Four. And now, this trailer makes me think I’m gonna like the Divergent movie more that THG. It was so perfect, I just can’t even…
The way it was shot, the scenery… it was perfect!!! It didn’t look like a YA movie at all. More like an action movie.
We got to see little scenes and very quickly at that, but they seemed very loyal to the book. So that’s good.
Kate Winslet as Janine Matthews is awesome!!! Just her being in the movie, makes me wanna see the movie. Though… she is an awfully lot in the trailer, but her character has a bigger role nearing the end of the book. So, did they changed a lot in the translation from book to movie?
Tori is just spot on!!! It gave me chills!
First jumper!!! YAY!!! I swear I had vertigo watching that. In the big screen is going to be perfect. And… it’s the prelude to the first time we get to see Four. So I know that all we fangirls who have read the books and know that Four / Theo is just beyond that hole, we’ll all be going: JUMP! JUMP! JUMP!
The knife throwing scene was really good too. But we missed seeing Theo’s part that they showed in Comic Con… =( Apparently, it was aaaaaaawesome!!!
Now… to the really important part (and the reason we’ve been waiting for the trailer): Theo James / Four.
“If you wanna survive, follow me”. Jeez! I’ll die when I see the actual scene. His voice is purr-fect!
The training bit is really good. I kept hearing in interviews how Theo was “masculine”, and Four had a “quiet masculinity” and Theo was “strong” and I kept banging my head against the wall. But this little bit of a scene makes it all crystal clear.
Another part where his voice just makes me go all mushy inside is when he tells Tris he won’t let them kill her. God as my witness that I believe him every word he says.
And finally, 2 things that had me as a puddle on the floor. The revelation of Four’s back tattoo and the kiss. Holly crap! Between the knife, the Ferris wheel, the kidnapping, the tattoo, the kiss… They showed you almost every key scene in like 60 seconds. The evil minds of the promo team are geniuses!!! The blog-sphere was going nuts imagining how the tattoo was going to be revealed. And… bam! They showed it in the trailer! By the way, is it just me or do you also want to cut off Shailene’s fingers for touching Theo?
Oh! An another thing: where are all the nay-sayers that were “Theo’s too old to play Four” now? After watching the trailer everyone just looooooooooooves Theo.
