Theater Monday: indulging in my obsession

Yeah, ok… so… I love theater too. But I was referring to my current obsession: . Some time ago I listed the , and I usually go through them pretty quickly. I’m sort of a painter in this aspect. Instead of having a Blue Period, a Red Period, a Pink Period, I go through a Chris Hemsworth Period, a Theo James Period, a Luke Evans Period… And it’s not like one makes the previous one disappear. No, no. I accumulate. It’s the normal thing to do.

duh

So… back to the 7 steps. I’m kinda stuck between 2 and 4 (and no, it’s not 3, you wise a$$!). It’s because I’m constantly searching to see if I can find something new about him and I’m still binge-watching all his work. I thought I had moved on from this stage after having watched almost all of his (I’ve watched “Blitz” and “Ashes” since then), but apparently… no.

It all started last Thursday, when I decided to participate on Twitter’s #ThrowBackThurday thingie with this Tweet (don’t mind the typo):

tbt-tweet-luke

This obviously gave way to several conversations between Luketeers, until mentioned how she loved his “Taboo” songs. WTF?!?!

surprise

After Tweet-yelling something of the sort of: “OMG! WTF! I HAVEN’T HEARD THEM! WHERE CAN I FIND THEM! PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEASE!!!!”, she took pity on me and sent me some YouTube links. Paradise. But… this got me thinking… Are there more Luke Evans videos on this magical chest of surprises that is YouTube? The answer, my dear friends, is yes.

My fangirl heart is doing backflips from the joy, but this means I’m again researching and binge-watching like crazy, so I’m getting little to no sleep again. Oh well…

Let me share some of the goodies I’ve found, so you can be stuck on step number 4 with me, ok? Oh! And if you’d like to be stuck on step 2 as well, please share your findings! Fangirls support each other’s obsessions, you know?

LA CAVA

Back in 2000, Luke played the part of Theo in the West End musical “La Cava”. Go ahead and do the math to see how old Luke was and die from cuteness!!! I haven’t been able to find photos or videos, just this pic of Luke…

LaCava2

And this video. Well… it’s not really a video, it’s more of a picture slideshow…

But that’s not all!!! For all of you who are creating a Luke Singing Playlist, I hit the jackpot with this 2 audios:

TABOO

In 2003, young Luke had a leading role in Boy George’s musical, playing Billy James. Until last Thursday, I had just seen some pictures ():

But then, I was sent these audios/videos:

These were the links that drove me to viciously attack Google and YouTube until I found something. And I did. Did you know that the whole of Taboo is posted online? I’m not kidding! You can watch it from beginning to end. Please, do:

Things I’ve learnt from watching Taboo:

1/ The show is quite good

2/ The guy playing Boy George is incredible!!!

3/ I can’t get enough of Luke Evans’s voice

4/ He was brilliant in the role!!!

5/ Is his nose too big for his face?

6/ He was totally cute, but he is like a good wine. He gets better with age.

I haven’t been able to find stuff from “Miss Saigon”, “Hardcore”, “Minor Irritations” or “Dickens Unplugged”, just a couple of photos from “Hardcore” and “Miss Saigon”. Mainly these two:

RENT REMIXED

Oh, yes… Everyone’s favorite. I bet most of you have the audio for “One Song Glory” on a loop, Imma right? Back in 2007, Luke played Roger in this version of Rent and it makes me wish I had a Time Machine.

Here is the for the show. You just have to watch his segment of the Video Diary:

The cast performed “Seasons of Love” for Children in Need back in 2007:

Here is a for several of the songs. Most have a photo slideshow were you can see a cute young Luke.

Let me just highlight “One Song Glory” because… well… just because:

Oh! And doing this post I struck gold and actually found some GIFs!!! ()

80’s kid, 90’s teen. That sums it up quite nicely. Fan of almost everything. There’s not enough room in cyber-space to list everything (or every guy / fictional character I have the hots for), but I’ll try: Outlander book series ultimate fan (‘cuz JAMMF is just perfection), YA and romance novel avid reader, BSB fan to the death. Current TV Shows addiction: Outlander, Game of Thrones, Arrow (I ship Olicity. Hard.), The Big Bang Theory, Marvel Agents of SHIELD. Past addictions: Friends, Glee, Spartacus, Smash, The Tudors, Battlestar Galactica, Lost (I’m an ending-hater). The Hot List: Luke Evans, Gerard Butler, Theo James, Nick Carter, Henry Cavill, Chris Hemsworth, Stephen Amell, Hugh Jackman and I could keep going to infinity. Oh! And I believe in the God of Google!
